Updating BaseBand.



Short Description: 
Update your phone to latest baseband before installing new ROMs.[current for W8 - 015]
Kernel and baseband are related to each other, so if you have baseband 006, you'll have 2.0.2.A.0.24 kernel, and with baseband 015 you'll get 2.1.1.A.0.6 kernel.
To check baseband -  Settings > About Phone > Baseband version. 

Actual Process:
  • Download Baseband 015 -  Downloads. and install using Flashtool.
  • Put the .ftf file on 'firmware' folder and just press flash on tool. - Detailed procedure.

    In my W8 the baseband version shows M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015, and kernel as 2.6.29 so do i need to update?

    after i updated my phone, i tried installing minicm7 2.3, it said baseband not supported eventhough it is the same ...pls help?

      Flash a fresh rom with flashtool or with sony pc companion then instal cwm recovery and try again this fixed my prblm

    Works great on W8, used it to upgrade to GingerXperia now, small details that are missing in the steps are you need 7-Zip to be installed first to unzip the Baseband 015 - X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015.7z
    doesnt work with winzip of winrar. changes the base band & makes installing the Cynogenmod a ease.

    Help, I can't update my phone. I followed the steps on the detailed tutorial of installing the .ftf file but nothing happens after I turn off -> hold back buttin -> unplug and plug back in....please help me.

    I have done it successfully. Then updated my firmware to 2.3.5 (Ginger Bread). But when I am trying to connect WiFi (adhoc) phone restarting. this is the only fault I have discovered. If anyone knows solution for this, please reply here.

    hey i have this problem.. Bootloader unrootable,how to fix this.. I came from gingerdx and it got soft brick.. And where do we put the rom to flash with flasht0ol?

    KUYA DROID USER
    you all may switch to gingerdx....this rom is faster and better than kuya....
    rom is not flashed with flash tool.....

    he asks to use kuya...but use gingerdx its more stable....

    do u have the x8 tft frimware file? if u have click on flash. then browser then find the tft file wer u saved .then click flash... ul get a pop up insert usb .. off the fone. hold the back n insert us ..den il will flash ur fone

    I recomend to use FROYO PRO 2.5 Rom... its stable, fast,no random reboot wen playng games or openg app... + more user space.. i got 2015 score on autut benchmark useng stock kernal wit overclockng at 746 mhz

    hey I m also a w8 user I also install this Rom its very bad in compare to ginger ultimate v1,v2,v3andv4 it is the best Rom I ever use. after install gu v4 on
    my w8 is 2.3.7.
