Using Flash tool to install .ftf files.


1. Install Flashtool.
2. Copy the *.ftf files that you `ve downloaded  to 'firmwares' folder from Flashtool.
3. Click "Flash" button from flashtool and select the *.ftf file firmware and click "OK"
4. Relax and wait a while. When the proccess is completed you will get a popup message. (don`t click on that!!!)
5. Unplug your USB cable from PC.
Power off your phone.
Press back button and keep your finger on button.
Plug USB cable to PC.
Check if the green LED appears.
On popup message press "OK" button.
When "Found at USB/........" appear on flash tool you may release "back button", sit down, relax and wait.




6. IF the "Start Flashing" message appear everything`s ok if not...repeat. Sitdown and relax.



7. When last message appear unplug/plug USB cable.
8.Restart Phone.
9.Done.:)

    Where do you get the .ftf files for w8 and flash tools that i got has only x10, x10 mini\pro, and x8 option in it which is not working..

    I found the same problem. W8 dead seems to boot does not work .. is there another solution? after the Sony logo appears always restats again

      install pc companion and use repair phone option.

      LISTEN CAREFULLY TO ME..
      DONT SWICH ON UR PHONE BEFORE
      FLASHING ...JUST ONLY PRESS
      BACK KEY AND CONNECT WITH USB U
      WILL SEE FLASHING STARTED...

    Followed all your instructions, it worked great, I had tried to install MiniCM7 on to a Sony W8, got bricked, now its working fine as X8, atleast its started, thats great, many thanks to you.

    I installed CM7_RC1_V4 rom in x8 but I cant get into recovery mode if I press back button while booting. so i copied busybox,chargemon and xrecovery from sd card to system path using root explorer. I gave full access(rrwwxx) for all the three then i restarted my phone, but it stuck's with the sony ericsson logo i tried by pressing back button repeatedly but it doesen't consider it. so i tried using flash tool(Flashtool\firmwares\X8_2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf) but it shows (Error flashing. Aborted) . I dono what to do pls help me on this.

    I am unable to open my w8 mobile as when was installed ICS after reboot my phone got stuck ..after opening it says SONY ERICSION and after that nothing is responding..even the clock word mod aswell..i tried flashing but that also doesn't helped me to restore.. please help me out in this step by step.. and ur quick response will b highly appreciated

    hey..i successfully rooted my phone and istalled Gingerdx v022 .and it works prperly...than i tried to install Gingerdx v31-shakira.(install cutome rom from dcard) . it installed successfully.. but..when i reboot my w8 phone it stop at sony ericson logo...nothing happen..please help me..how to repair my phone..????
